Charity
Giving back is part of our DNA and one of our main values is to 'make a difference'. The BAS team realise and appreciate the need to look after our neighbouring communities and where possible give back to both local and national charities. We try to embrace and look after charities that are close to our hearts and this is why we have chosen to support different causes each year rather than just focus on one.
In previous years this has included:
- dressing up as elves to raise money for Alzheimer’s, and a local charity called Genesis Care, which provides well-being and respite care services for older people
- trekking up Mount Snowdon and raised over £1000 for Springhill Hospice in Rochdale, which is a purpose-built facility offering specialist palliative care to patients and families from diagnosis to end-of-life
- swimming a mile in Windermere for the Society of Abandoned Animals
- a regular summer event is volunteering for the day gardening for SpringHill Hospice alongside other things
- all the team all do various volunteer roles individually, supporting their personally chosen charity
Refer a friend
We run a Refer a Friend Scheme* with a difference, where we will give a charitable donation of £100 to a charity of your choice or from our chosen partners below.
For any further information on our fundraising or charities then feel free to drop us a line at info@basrecruit.com and we would be more than happy to share information, or if you fancy it, come along and get involved!
*Please note there will be criteria to be eligible for the refer a friend donation
Corporate Social Responsibility
CSR is not just for large Corporates; adopting and embracing CSR alongside diversity and inclusion leads to more responsible practices. It supports innovative efforts to promote human rights, addresses environmental challenges, and improves communities, and this is an ethos that all companies can build into their business strategy. If every company adopted CSR strategies and started fulfilling one goal at a time, imagine the change we would see. Companies can unite and work together, driving the possibilities for societal and environmental change. Where practices such as sustainability and community economic empowerment can also lead to tangible business benefits through social responsibility.
The BAS team takes our responsibilities very seriously and ensures best practices are adhered to in every aspect of our business, to allow us to incorporate these values into our daily lives and not just tick a box. We are heavily involved in helping our communities, both at home and across the workplace; supporting the wellbeing of people we come into contact with, and ensuring, where possible, we support local businesses and give back to the local communities.
We support schools in the local area, one Director is a Careers Enterprise Advisor to two schools in Greater Manchester, and as a team, we all support the various career curriculum activities where we can, ensuring the next generation leaves education more work-ready than ever before.
We are all engaged in various local community groups, in our own time. These diverse activities range from Football Coaching, running a Rainbows group, and Village Green initiatives to European Twin Town exchanges.
