Paying £35k - £40k this large Manchester-based company is recruiting for an Accounts Payable Manager on a permanent basis. The Role
The job's main purpose is to ensure a high standard of vendor and stakeholder relations, driving invoice payment on time with the lowest cost impact to the business. Supporting the Accounts Payable Team to achieve set goals, whilst driving efficiencies and improvements in line with Business Values and Policies. You will be responsible for providing a professional and cooperative end-to-end service to both our internal and external suppliers/customers, promoting best practice. You will be driving and leading the Accounts Payable team. You will be confident working with a high volume of invoices and your remit will be instrumental in achieving a high level of efficiency and accuracy in the Accounts Payable process.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the operational activities and management of the Accounts Payable function
- Ensure supplier payments are made on a timely and accurate basis, in line with agreed timeframes
- Drive optimal performance of the function via data-driven KPIs and metrics, and problem resolution via root cause analysis
- Develop reporting capability for the AP Team
- Identify and implement process improvements across the Purchase to Pay cycle, including automation
- Manage the Accounts Payable elements of the month-end process such as direct debit payment and balance sheet reconciliations
- Build strong relationships with colleagues to achieve the goals you set for the AP function
- Setting and facilitating the achievement of team objectives
- Developing, implementing, improving, and enforcing budgets, policies, and controls to increase accuracy and efficiency
The Person
This will suit someone who has significant previous experience managing an Accounts Payable team, and who has knowledge of P2P processes and has strong management skills. You will have experience of financial controls and be confident with IT systems including experience with AP ERP systems. You will need to be a strong communicator and have excellent written and verbal skills. You must be able to commute to the Manchester area as this role is a hybrid position.
