A leading, grant-funded organisation in this dynamic sector is seeking an all round Assistant Accountant to support the Finance Director to maintain strong accounting records, drive its financial operations, and contribute to its ongoing success.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and VAT returns
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, profit & loss statements, and balance sheet reconciliation
- Collaborate with various departments, providing financial guidance and resolving queries
- Manage and improve financial systems and procedures for greater efficiency
- Become involved in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and financial audits.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in an accounting role
- Studying towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA, or a Finance Graduate with equivalent experience
- Proficiency in Sage or similar accounting software
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset
