Senior Vat Manager - Leeds (Hybrid) - (9 month maternity cover) - Circa £80,000 - Fixed term Contract / daily rate
We are seeking a talented Senior VAT Manager for a period of 9 months to cover a period of maternity leave for a large recognised household name. Based in Leeds our client prides itself on delivering exceptional service and innovative solutions in the sector. The successful candidate will take on a pivotal role within the finance team, leveraging their VAT expertise to navigate the complexities of indirect tax compliance and strategy, while helping to drive the business forward in this dynamic environment.
- Lead the development and implementation of VAT strategies in line with business objectives.
- Oversee VAT compliance, ensuring accurate and timely submissions to HMRC.
- Provide expert guidance and support on VAT matters to various departments, enhancing overall tax efficiency.
- Conduct VAT audits and reviews, identifying areas for improvement and risk mitigation.
- Monitor legislative changes affecting indirect tax and ensure necessary adjustments are made to maintain compliance.
- Manage and develop a small team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with external advisors on complex VAT issues when required.
It is essential you have a proven track record of working within VAT, with significant experience in managing VAT compliance and advisory work. With excellent communication skills you will have the ability to convey complex tax concepts in an accessible manner with a proactive mindset, with the ability to anticipate potential issues before they arise.
This role will be offered either on a fixed term contract or daily rate offered at market rates.
